Welcome to our EuroFM Website
We like to introduce ourselves in your own language.
EuroFM is a Network of more than 60 organisations, all focussed on Facility Management. They are based in some 15 European countries and represent professional (national) associations, education- and research institutes and commercial organisations. EuroFM’s Mission is the advancement of knowledge in Facility Management in Europe and its application in Practice, Education and Research, in order to communicate ‘best Practice’ through Europe. The open Network of professionals, academics and researchers generates a rich mix of activities, initiated by three Network Groups: the Practice-, the Education- and the Research Network Group, forming the core of EuroFM. EuroFM was launched, some 15 years ago, reflecting the embryonic state of the profession: a federation, acting as an informal network, to respond to the desire of a number of European academics and researchers to exchange information and knowledge. Gradually EuroFM grew to its present organisation, more governed and structured than before, but still valueing informal contacts between members. The Practice Group plays a leading role in bringing together the national associations, which see EuroFM as a ‘central European’ organisation. The Practice Group will link with the other two Groups to define research subjects and requirements for professional education, both relevant to the FM practitioner. EuroFM represents nowadays some 15,000 people in the European field of FM. Each member organisation must be committed to the Mission and other objectives of EuroFM and is able to belong to any one (or two or three) of the Network Groups, according to their interest and/or resource, provided they intend to contribute in an active way to the activities of the Network Group(s). Each Group has a committee of voluntary representatives with an identified Leader, responsible for facilitating the Network activities, such as projects, meetings, publications a.s.o.The EuroFM members are involved in an open exchange of information and experience through meetings, seminars and workshops, through collaboration in research projects, sometimes funded by EC, and through the development of joint educational programmes. Proceedings of these activities are disseminated through the Network via the EuroFM Website, an annual conference and through newsletters, researchpapers and the EuroFM house Journal ‘Facilities’. Most of all EuroFM must embrace the Internet as a business and communications tool, and for that reason the dedicated EuroFM web site www.eurofm.org is ‘mission critical’. The web site is the platform for all initiatives, and the communications hub for members, as well as for the public domain. Nowadays, also commercial, profit making organisations may join EuroFM, provided they fulfil the above mentioned members’ commitments. EuroFM welcome this new group of members, because, being a platform to advance and exchange FM-knowledge, they can make a large contribution to it. The official language in EuroFM is English. Behind this icone the language is your own. The national members may put more general or national, public information behind this icone, but that is up to them.
